The FiberNet
The Fiber-Optic Perimeter Security System

B.E.I. Communications has developed a Fiber-Optic Perimeter Surveillance and Alarm System, a comprehensive, all-encompassing, self-sustained security system for industrial and correctional use. Comprised of three main components:

- The F-5000 Fiber-Optic Perimeter System.
- CCTV Monitoring and Alarm System .
- Patrol Car Surveillance and Response Network.
-
The F-5000 System Provides:
- Virtually 100% Detection Rate
- Negligible False Alarm rate
- Negligible Nuisance Alarms
- Highest Performance-to-Cost Ratio
- Alarm Activation only by Direct Assault
- Attachment to any Existing Barrier or as a Free-Standing Fence
- Simple Installation and Maintenance-Free (unless physically damaged)
- Environmentally Esthetic and Friendly Appearance
- Long-life Guarantee
- Easy and Fast to Repair

Description:
- The F-5000 is comprised of a uniquely folding, specially formulated and structured
(patented) fiber-optic net. Any attempt to breach the net triggers an alarm.
- The net is made of a fiber-optic cable formed into squares of 16 X 16 cm.
which are crossed at each joint by a plastic crossover button bonded by ultra-sonic welding. Infrared light is pulsed through the fiber net.
- The upper part of the fence incorporates state-of-the-art transducers,
and a tensioned heavy duty fiber-optic cable which is stretched between the transducers and also inserted through the upper loops of the fiber-optic net.
- The folding fiber net can be attached parallel to a variety of existing perimeter
barriers; or can be installed as a "free-standing" intruder detection system.
- The F-5000 delivers real protection with the highest probability of
detection (P.D.) rate and lowest false alarm rate in the world market.
100% Detection:
There is no way to climb over, break, tear, pass, jam, tamper, or bridge the F-5000 without being detected.
- Negligible False Alarms: The F-5000 delivers the lowest nuisance and
false alarm rate (F.A.R.) by uniquely withstanding natural environmental forces.
- Using fiber-optics, as opposed to conventional copper-based systems, the F-5000 provides higher signal integrity, lower interference, and a higher signal carrying capacity. Since the lower section of the fiber-optic net detects cutting only, the F-5000 prevents false alarms often caused by environmental conditions, including: animals pushing against the fence, thrown stones, blown objects, E.M.I., R.F.I., lightning, electrical charges, magnetic field (light is not affected by electrostatic or electromagnetic fields), extreme temperature changes (storms, hail, snow, fog, dust, etc.), passersby, moving plants, birds, tree branches, among others.
Safe: The F-5000 can be installed in "sensitive environments."
Versatile:
-
Can be incorporated into an integrated turn-key security system. Can be
installed as a "free-standing" system, simultaneously providing a physical barrier and a sensor. Can be attached parallel to a wide variety of existing perimeter barriers (such as: chain link, weld mesh, walls, barbed wire, concrete, stone or brick palisade, etc.) without any influence upon existing fence construction quality. Esthetic and friendly appearance permits use in various landscapes and locations.
- Durable: F-5000 special structure assures long life (minimum life-span of 15
years with normal use)
-
Corrosion resistance. The specially constructed net does not contain any
corrosive or salt spray sensitive components, and is thus completely unaffected by harsh, corrosive climates.
- Withstands U.V. radiation. The F-5000 is therefore unaffected by direct sunlight.
- Dust-proof.
- Weather-proof.
- Waterproof (permitting underwater installation).
No Maintenance:
- The system is easy to install and is very user-friendly.
It is maintenance-free unless physically damaged. Fiber-optic technology makes repairs simple and quick (5 minutes per break).
- Computerized: The F-5000 System provides communication with a state-of-the-art
computerized Control Center (utilizing IBM-compatible computer)
including advanced communication hardware and sophisticated
hardware which guarantees immediate, reliable information.

-
Powerful, real-time, database
TEE4000 software package allows operator to choose from a range of operating or service/set-up programs All events are stored in the database for debriefing and investigation.
Plugged-in interface PCB, capable of controlling up to 8000 sensor inputs and 8000 control outputs. SuperVGA color monitor displays complete perimeter layout, and indicates the location, date, and time of specific break-through intruded zone(s).
System Applications
The applications and uses for the Fiber-optic Security System are as varied as the things people may want to protect or secure. Because of the universality of its components and construction, the system can be installed in any variety of environments, climates, temperature ranges, or topographical areas.
Applications:
- Safe in Combustible Areas:
- As the Fiber-Optic System does not carry any electrical charges, it is safe
in combustible areas such as: ammunition or explosive storage and sites with high risk of explosion or fire.
- Underground Anti-Digging System:
- The F-5000 Fiber-Optic Net can be buried up to 50 cm. deep into the ground,
replacing expensive concrete footing.
- Anti-Climb System:
- The F-5000 Fiber-Optic Net System can be installed above any kind of
existing barrier, e.g. on top of a wall, roof perimeter fencing, grill fence, etc.
- Structurally Incorporated System:
- The F-5000 Fiber-Optic Net is perfect for building and incorporating into
structures such as: walls, windows, frames, prison yards, etc., to detect intrusions by drilling or breaking.
- Underwater System:
-
Uniquely designed, F-5000 can be installed in fresh or salt water. It can be
used to protect underwater installations, such as: military installations, harbor and marine entrances, and pipelines.

CCTV integration
Real-time integrated intrusion location and confirmation with a controlled CCTV camera. Image, freeze and storage of the alarm video picture.
Unique surveillance and identification capabilities result in immediate highlighting of the intruded zone on an active color graphic site map display; the intruder's video picture is simultaneously displayed in a window on the VGA monitor. The Control Center is compatible and easily integrated with any existing or future sensors, control and/or alarm systems.

A Patrol Car Surveillance Network:
-
- In the event of an alarm, the Computer Control Center announces location to Patrol Car and sends associated video from appropriate cameras to all officers to view area of concern "real-time".
-

The Intrusion Detection System transmits the output of the integrated CCTV system to patrolling vehicles outfitted with RF video monitors, antennas and radios. The patrolmen have control of camera operations from the vehicle, manipulated with a keypad. nature and location of the alarm to the patrol vehicles, along with videoof the event.
The system is available for both purchase or lease. Moreover, with low and inexpensive maintenance requirements, the system is extremely cost-effective.
The Net (Fiber-optic F-5000) prices range from US $75-120. per linear foot Installed with 5 years on site warranty.
System price ( The net, Color Cameras with video motion detector for every 350' zones, 4 pan/tilt and and zoom cameras and a patrolling vehicle outfitted with RF video monitors and wireless Remote to control and manipulate any of the perimeter cameras) range from US $170-220. per linear foot Installed with 5 years on site warranty.
Prices are subject to change without notice. Prices may vary based on location. Final price will be determined after on-sight inspection.
